Join us in the Ailsa Mellon Bruce Decorative Arts and Design galleries for an in-person story time with curatorial assistant Alyssa Velazquez! This month we’ll be reading Niko Draws a Feeling by Bob Raecka and illustrated by Simone Shin followed by a making activity for children 12 and under led by teaching artist Jena Schieb.
This reading is made possible by Lerner Publishing Group. To purchase past and present Story Saturday titles, checkout Carnegie Museum of Art Museum Store’s online reading section.
About the Book
Niko loves to draw his feelings. When he sees something, he tries to capture the way it makes him feel with splashes of color on the paper. His family and friends don’t understand. They keep trying to figure out what the object is that he’s drawn. This makes Niko sad, and he draws that sadness. Then one day, he meets Iris. Join us talking about, and celebrating, the universal desire to feel understood.
