“As a result of spending almost every Wednesday in the museum now, I am learning more and more about myself, about life. I am learning to be more in the moment, to experience my body, my feelings, myself, and my environment. The museum truly helps me to center my life, and I look forward to being there as often as I can.”
—Mindful Museum participant, 2022
Mindful Museum is an extensive suite of accessible programs and activities for visitors 55 and over that expand the museum as a destination that nurtures the mind, body, and soul. Mindful Museum participants are invited to enjoy Wednesday morning programming that includes art paths and meditation stops throughout the museum, drawing, art-making, chair yoga, art history classes, social gatherings, guided tours, exclusive digital content offerings, and more. Sessions are designed to support novice learners while offering experienced learners opportunities for expanding their knowledge.
On Wednesdays, Mindful Museum participants receive early entry into the museum of art at 9 a.m., discounted coffee and pastries at Café Carnegie, and $5 parking. Participants are sent weekly emails about offerings for that week. Printed schedules are available on-site.
A one-time program fee grants unlimited participation in the experiences listed below.
Financial accommodations are available. For more information or help registering, please contact the Program Registration Office at +1 412.622.3288.
