Carnegie Museum of Art is pleased to offer digital images from our collection and archives for scholarly and commercial uses, as well as reproductions of select artworks, including photographs from the Charles “Teenie” Harris Archive, for personal use.
Licensing Images from Our Collection
To request an image for your publication, product, or presentation, please fill out our easy image request form. We strongly recommend that you submit your licensing requests at least eight weeks prior to the date each image is needed, to ensure adequate processing time. Additional time may be required if an object requires new photography.
We operate on a sliding scale for licensing fees and want to work with you to find a fair and reasonable cost. We believe in being a good partner to all who use our images and prints.
Although the museum may own an artwork, the artist or their estate may be represented by an entity that specifically oversees the artist’s copyright. If an image is presumed to be under copyright or if rights are managed by Artist Rights Society (ARS), you should first obtain copyright clearance before asking us to license an image.
For more information, feel free to download a PDF of our terms and conditions for reproductions.

Non-profit fees apply to personal or academic use or use by an educational organization such as a school, university, museum, library, or other non-profit, tax-exempt [501(c)(3)] organization.
