Tour the Museum with Us

Come experience our collection and special exhibitions with a group on a guided visit led by one of our friendly and knowledgeable docents, or on your own with a self-guided option.

Unguided tours offer admission to Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History while guided, conversation-based tours are 60 minutes in length and are designed for groups of 10–15 adults (ages 16+). We’re happy to offer custom tours to meet the interests and needs of your group! As part of our offerings, we lead verbal description tours for individuals who are blind and tours in American Sign Language, available upon request. Tour fees include admission to both the Museum of Art and the Museum of Natural History.

For K–12 students and teachers, we offer school group visits during the academic year. Learn how to co-create a museum experience for you and your students.

Interested in bringing a group? Here’s what you need to know:

Please reach out to book your tour four weeks prior to your desired tour date.
We aim to accommodate your requested date and time within our staff and spatial capacities of the exhibition. Please provide alternate dates and times in case your first option isn’t available.
Tours may be scheduled from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Wednesday through Monday (the museums are closed on Tuesdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day), and Thursdays 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
Each tour is designed for a minimum of 10 people and maximum of 15 people.
Please note, Curator Guided tours are subject to availability and only offered on weekdays, (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.).

One week prior to your visit, we will send you confirmation and final payment information. We kindly ask that you to send final attendance numbers and payment one week in advance.
