Look deeply at photographer Gordon Park’s images of the Penola, Inc. Grease plant and the people who worked there in Pittsburgh’s Strip District in the 1940s in the exhibition Gordon Parks in Pittsburgh, 1944/1946. Discuss Park’s documentation of the plant, its workers, and the range of their activities manufacturing lubricants to support U.S. military efforts during World War II.
