Let’s talk about art!
Meet up with a docent and other museum visitors for a Gordon Parks Art Chat. Look deeply at photographer Gordon Park’s images of the Penola, Inc. Grease plant and the people who worked there in Pittsburgh’s Strip District in the 1940s in the exhibition Gordon Parks in Pittsburgh, 1944/1946. Discuss Park’s documentation of the plant, its workers, and the range of their activities manufacturing lubricants to support U.S. military efforts during World War II.
No registration is needed to attend an Art Chat—just drop in! Art Chats start at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. A docent will meet you at the entrance of Gordon Parks in Pittsburgh, 1944/1946, located at the top of the Scaife stairs.
