Friends of the Carnegie International

The Friends of the Carnegie International is a leadership group whose support is instrumental to the scope and scale of the Carnegie International. Composed of individuals from around the country and the world, the Friends have provided critical support to the International since 2004. From its start, the Friends have constituted an informed philanthropic core to the ambitions and achievements of the Carnegie International.

Carnegie Museum of Art invites you be a part of this important and historic exhibition series. The Friends of the Carnegie International are entitled to many benefits that provide stimulating opportunities for travel, uncommon social and educational events, and meaningful exchange with the curators and artists of the International. Individuals who support the 59th Carnegie International by becoming a Friend are invited to join the Opening Celebration on Friday, May 1, 2026. The pledge period for commitments to support the 59th Carnegie International extends to the close of the exhibition on January 3, 2027.

Luminary ($250,000+)

Carnegie Luminaries serve as beacons of support for the Carnegie International, inspiring the museum director and curators throughout the curatorial process. They serve as catalysts for the success of each Carnegie International, motivating their peers to join as Friends. The upmost level of support, Luminaries are provided unique and access to Carnegie International curators, artists and opportunities, including travel.

Keystone ($125,000+)

Keystone support is a central piece in the historical arc of the Carnegie International and continues far into the future, ensuring the exhibition’s power to imaginatively transform the museum and reach across the globe to engage the art and artists of our time. Support at the Keystone level provides special access to Carnegie International programs, events and exclusive opportunities.

Friends ($20,000+)

Friends of the Carnegie International are both champions of and guardians to the legacy of the Carnegie International. Their friendship and support assures the Carnegie International continues to engage artists and contributors from around the world, and transform the museum’s programs, partnerships, and operations in responsive and imaginative ways.

Fans ($5,000+)

Fans, an enthusiastic and devoted group of Carnegie International supporters, are motivated by their admiration of the longest-running exhibition of international art in North America.
