Join us for dialogue-based tours of artworks by Latine artists in If the word we: 59th Carnegie International, in Spanish (with English interpretation)!
What does it mean to be a Latine artist? How is an artist identified as Latine? What artworks in the exhibition are influenced by the Latine culture or geography?
Art language is an evolving series of gatherings that explore art through food, storytelling, creativity, and cultural exchange—celebrating the many ways people connect, communicate, and make meaning together. Art Language brings together neighbors, families, community groups, and museum visitors through experiences shaped by Neighborhood Museum participants. Inspired by the 59th Carnegie International, each gathering creates opportunities to connect across languages, cultures, experiences, and perspectives.
Art Language is for our publics, our neighbors, and for the museum itself. The series seeks to deepen relationships among participants while exploring how the museum can listen, learn, and grow through community knowledge and lived experience.
