Presenting work by 32 artists and artist collectives, the Carnegie International, 57th Edition 2018 invites visitors to explore what it means to be âinternationalâ at this moment in time, and to experience museum joy. The pleasure of being with art and other people inspired the composition of this Internationalâa series of encounters with contemporary art inside the world of Carnegie Museum of Art.

Tam OâShanter Drawing Session View All →
These creative sessions are for those who draw and for those who donât. Explore contemporary art through improvised forms of drawing with artists and organizers of the 2018 Carnegie International.
Cinematheque
The Internationalâs Cinematheque series presents four Saturdays of film screenings, each unraveling one of the exhibitionâs interpretive threads. We start with a matinee program appropriate for kids and families.
Artist Lecture Series
The International teams up with our neighbor, Carnegie Mellon University, to present an Artist Lecture Series. Throughout the exhibition, International artists will give public talks at Carnegie Mellon University about their ideas and processes.
Free and open to the public, the Carnegie Mellon University School of Art Lecture series brings contemporary artists and scholars from around the world to Pittsburgh to speak about their artistic practice, conceptual thinking, and the broader impact of their work. These lectures give the public the opportunity to hear from some of the most important contemporary cultural voices.
