Meet Ian Cheng

Ian Cheng draws on his background in cognitive science and his research into artificial intelligence to explore philosophical questions about evolution, human behavior, and consciousness. In 2017, Cheng created Emissary Sunsets the Self, a digital simulation featuring different characters who move about and respond to his imaginary world in infinitely unpredictable ways.
