“I like to use my hands and make things… It might seem pretty stupid or pointless but that doesn’t matter… some of the most interesting work is the stuff that starts like that – out of a raw need for activity.” —Bruce Nauman

  1. Find a comfortable place to look at this sculpture. What about it communicates having fun or a good life?
  2. Breathe deeply and relax your body. Imagine that any tension is melting away, making your body lighter and more at ease.
  3. Close your eyes and imagine a time when you felt completely free—perhaps laughing, dancing, or simply doing something that you love.
  4. Take that sense of freedom and joy and bring it into the present moment. Feel the lightness in your body as if you were living that joyful memory now.
  5. Breathe in deeply, filling your body with a sense of lightness. Breathe out and imagine joy surrounding you, enveloping you in its warmth and energy.
  6. Set an intention to bring more lightheartedness and joy into your life. What can you do more of, or focus on, to cultivate these qualities?
  7. Take three deep breaths, savoring the feeling of joy and fun. Allow yourself to bask in this light, playful energy for a moment before continuing your day.
