“Let the center be your home: To be centered is to be at peace with yourself and the world.” —Deepak Chopra

  1. Take some time to study this painting as you reflect on its title: Locating Centers.
  2. Slowly scan the shapes from one rectangle to the next, noticing how each section makes you feel.
  3. Which rectangles are you most drawn to? Which shapes make you feel the most stable and centered?
  4. Now, close your eyes and bring your awareness to the shape of your body. Slowly scan your body from head to toes.
  5. Shift your focus to the center of your body. You may find yourself gently moving, swaying from side to side or shifting forward and backward, as you connect with your center. When you feel aligned, come to a place of stillness.
  6. Allow your focus to rest on this centered place within you. Let go of any tension you might be holding, gently releasing it from other areas of your body.
  7. Take a few deep breaths here, feeling the safety and stability of your body.
