Jonathan Yu (余在思) (born 1974; lives in Hong Kong) is a calligraphy artist whose creative practice covers themes of personal expression, community engagement, and the relationship between people and the soil. For the 59th Carnegie International, Yu focuses on the intersection of calligraphy, community, and farming. He works as a visiting lecturer in social design, and he is also a writer and a farmer with a strong interest in regenerative agriculture. In 2025, he collaborated with the Hong Kong Life Model Club in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, to present Body Calligraphy Works, a series of photographs on the infinite possibilities of the body as a narrative medium. He has also worked with Soil Trust to promote community composting and food waste regeneration.
