Hans Ragnar Mathisen (born 1945, Narvik, Norway; lives in Tromsø, Norway) is a highly renowned and influential Sámi visual artist. He is widely known for his maps of Sápmi, in which he highlights the Sámi land area as a whole across nation-state borders. Also known as Keviselie, Mathisen has had an illustrious career with the recent retrospectives Half a Century Artist: 50 Years–50 Artpieces (2025) at Dáiddadállu, Kautokeino, Norway, and 1979–2023: Half a Century Archive (2023) at Hwa Kang Museum, Taipei. Other solo exhibitions include Alta Kunstforening, Norway (2023), Oslo Kunstforening (2022), and Tromsø Kunstforening (2021). Recent group exhibitions include Museum of Art of São Paulo (2025); 1st Sámi Triennale (2024); Bergen Kunsthall, Norway (2021); Sør-Troms Museum, Harstad, Norway (2020); ArkDes, Stockholm, Sweden (2019); Tensta Konsthall, Spånga, Sweden (2019); Sámi Dáiddaguovddáš, Karasjok, Norway (2018); and documenta 14, Kassel, Germany (2017).
