Fe Avila (born 1981, São Paulo, Brazil; lives in São Paulo, Brazil) creates photographs that manifest themselves in the enchantment of encounters and through the infinite possibilities of joint creation. Unveiling bodily interactions beyond heteropatriarchal gender identities, Avila experiments with multiple performative paths and weaves relationships with other beings and with “nature.” They use photography to extend the time of encounters, transforming them into memory/recollection and prolonging the time of communion. Avila has a degree in social communication from Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo and a postgraduate degree in art history from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado, São Paulo. They presented the work Docile Male in São Paulo in 2017, and their photofilm In the Encounter Everything Dilutes (2022) was shown at the MixBrasil Festival in 2023. Avila has published the photography albums SP NAITE (2024), In the Encounter Everything Dilutes (2022), and Present Body (2019); their photo series In Your Skin I Can Touch the Sky (2021–2023) appeared in Balam Magazine, no. 9 (2023).
