Elle Márjá Eira (born 1983 Hammerfest, Norway; lives in Kautokeino, Norway) is a Sámi Indigenous filmmaker, writer, director, actor, and musician. She has produced numerous short films, art films, and music videos. In 2024, Eira directed STOLEN—a Netflix original production that achieved the Top 10 list out of a total of seventy-one countries after its premiere. Eira is among the directors of the award-winning TV series POWER PLAY (NRK, 2023), which received two awards at the 2023 Canneseries, including Best Series. She has also worked extensively in virtual reality, including premiering her VR 360 film EALLU (Reindeer Herd) at Árran 360, part of the Sámi Pavilion in the 59th Venice Biennale (2022). Eira’s musical collaborations include partnering with Christophe Beck for the feature film The 12th Man directed by Harald Zwart. In 2025, Eira is directing the first Sámi opera, Eatnama váibmu (The Heart of the Earth), based on the Sámi creation myth, at the Royal Swedish Opera. She currently has a feature-length documentary in development, KEVISELIE.
