This retrospective exhibition of the work of the Belgian artist and poet Marcel Broodthaers is the first extensive look at the artist’s career in the United States. The exhibtion consists of approximately 200 works from his short but prolific career and includes sculpture, paintings, films, slide projections and installations. Paying homage to fellow European artists René Magritte and Marcel Duchamp, Broodthaers’ enigmatic work often tests the boundary between a work of art and an object.
Marcel Broodthaers is organized by the Walker Art Center in association with the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels
