Join Raymund Ryan, curator of The Heinz Architectural Center, for a series of live virtual tours of great Pittsburgh buildings. In recent months, Ryan has explored nearly all the city neighborhoods using Professor Franklin Tokerâs seminal publication, Pittsburgh: An Urban Portrait (1986), as his guide. Learn more about well-known landmarks and first-time discoveries that make up the fabric of Pittsburghâs built environment. Discover new additions to the Pittsburgh skyline and add your questions for the curator in this live Zoom event.
Each lecture will feature a specific Pittsburgh neighborhood:
- June 17: Downtown
- June 24: Oakland
- July 1: The North and South Sides
- July 8: From Downtown to East End
Looking for more? Read Ryanâs photo essay about the architectural gems of Downtown Pittsburgh in our award-winning journal, Storyboard.
