University Night brings together students, faculty, and staff from colleges and universities across the region for an evening of looking, learning, conversation, and connection at the 59th Carnegie International, titled If the word we.
Featuring the work of 61 artists and collectives from around the globe, the exhibition transforms the museum into a space for exploring ideas, perspectives, and artistic practices across geographies and histories. During University Night, participants can engage with the exhibition alongside 59th Carnegie International artist Eric Gyamfi, members of the exhibition’s curatorial team, and museum educators.
Through close looking, shared inquiry, and conversation, the program offers opportunities to explore the artworks, artistic practices, and contexts that shape the exhibition while connecting with peers and colleagues from across disciplines and institutions.
Whether you are studying art, teaching it, researching it, or simply curious, University Night offers a chance to spend time with others who are interested in the questions contemporary art can raise about the world and our place within it.
