An Ikebana Workshop with Sogetsu Pittsburgh

Create a small work of ikebana and connect with both the history and the modern interpretations of this Japanese art form of flower composition.

Sofu Teshigahara (1900ā€“1979), who is represented in the 59th Carnegie International with sculptures and paintings, was also the founder of The Sogetsu School of ikebana. Pittsburgh is fortunate to be home to one of the 120 Sogetsu Study Groups located in 38 different countries. Members of Sogetsu Pittsburgh will lead this workshop focusing on bamboo as a main element in ikebana.
