Screening and Conversation: The Ballad of Suzanne Césaire

Join art historian Tiffany Barber and filmmaker Madeleine Hunt-Erlich for a screening of The Ballad of Suzanne Césaire, which explores the inner world of Caribbean surrealist Suzanne Césaire through archival research, fragmentation, and other non-linear poetic structures. The conversation that follows will center Black surrealism as an artistic tactic and response to a fragmenting authoritarian society.
