Join us in the Ailsa Mellon Decorative Arts and Design galleries on the opening day of Extraordinary Ordinary Things for an in-person story time with Decorative Arts and Design curator Alyssa Velazquez.
For this Story Saturday, we will be reading How To Code a Sandcastle by Josh Funk. Learn how creating code can make your own beach days even better! With assistance from a very helpful robot named Pascal, Pearl learns how to build the perfect sandcastle using fundamental computer coding concepts.
After story time, all participants are invited to stick around for an art-making activity designed for children 12 and under.

This program is being offered at the same time as our summer event series, Inside Out. Hosted in partnership with local artists, arts organizations, and regional dish and drink vendors, Inside Out extends the museum experience outdoors with DJs, pop-up performances, and more. Inside Out takes place every Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and every Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.
