Join us in the Ailsa Mellon Bruce Decorative Arts and Design galleries for an in-person story time of When Clay Sings by Byrd Baylor and illustrated by Tom Bhati with curatorial assistant Alyssa Velazquez. The reading is followed by an art-making activity for children 12 and under.
Listen to clay’s voice, it sings. It’s a song that has lasted for thousands of years in Native American cultures. Use your ears and your mind to imagine the lives of the people who created images of birds, lizards, and hunters on pieces of pottery found throughout the Southwest desert.
This reading is made possible by Atheneum Books for Young Readers.
