Join us in the Hall of Architecture as we welcome Camerata 33, with their orchestra of stringed instruments! The group transports listeners into the traditional holiday music of Latin America. Camerata 33 will perform “Villancicos,” traditional carols that date back 400 years and have since become standards around the world.
About the Artist
Camerata 33 is a chamber orchestra based in Pittsburgh, PA whose mission is to promote and strengthen the presence of Latin-American chamber music in the music halls of the United States and in our neighborhoods around the Pittsburgh region. Camerata 33 engages with music as a universal language with power as a teaching tool. Almost half of Camarata’s performers are originally from Latin America and collectively have many musical experiences to share. The interactions emerging from their concerts happen in English and Spanish.
