Join Carnegie International artist Maithili Bavkar in a performative reading that explores domestic gesture, voice, and materiality. With spoken word meeting printed matter, Bavkar’s performance embodies her poem experientially.
The reading unfolds with the viewer, inviting all to engage their senses when encountering changes in language and form. The audience and artist will explore the work through viewing, expanding, rearranging, and deconstruction of text and form.
Maithili Bavkar is an artist featured in If the word we: 59th Carnegie International, and whose work is published in the exhibition catalogue. She is also featured in the 2026 Pittsburgh Art Book Fair, where her works and printed matter is available.
