Curated by Herman “Soy Sos” Pearl, Drift Terrain is a five-hour continuous soundscape, shaped through the live collaboration of acoustic and electronic musicians whose staggered performances weave and overlap in a slow, evolving drift. Across this expanse of sound, movement artists from Sidra Bell Dance New York emerge at intervals, presenting excerpts from G R A P H. As sound and motion rise, recede, and reconfigure, audiences are invited to move freely through the space or settle into stillness. Drift Terrain unfolds as an ever-changing landscape — porous, textural, and alive with listening.
G R A P H, featuring Sidra Bell Dance New York is a series of utterances, assemblages, etymologies, and figurative drawings exploring liberation as a necessity for improvisational design and embodied expression. The piece explores unyielding symmetry and the distortion of classical lines through the labor of the performers and sonic emissions. Within the cascading, blooming, and disappearing structures, the performers create a mural of images with the surfaces of their bodies. The piece premiered at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2025.
