Teenie Harris Photographs: In Their Own Voice hinges upon a wealth of oral histories gathered by Dr. Ben Houston, senior lecturer in modern US history at Newcastle University, England. Join Carnegie Museum of Art and The Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh for a discussion on creating and using oral histories.
The event is moderated by Tim Smith, Executive Director of Center of Life and pastor of the Keystone Church of Hazelwood. Panelists include Dr. Lauren Bairnsfather, executive director of the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh; Charlene Foggie-Barnett, archive specialist at Carnegie Museum of Artâs Teenie Harris Archive; historian and author Eric Lidji; and Tony Norman, columnist and book review editor for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Panelists will discuss their own work with oral histories, as well as how attendees can record and preserve their own.
A Q&A and meetup follows the moderated discussion.
