Join Sogetsu Pittsburgh in creating a large-scale collaborative ikebana arrangement that will become the center piece of the Sculpture Court. Observe the Sogetsu-style (think: living sculpture) ikebana demonstrations crafted in response to the natural and art-architectural forms of the museum’s courtyard. The Sogetsu School will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2027. To mark the occasion, the first 100 attendees of Let’s Sogetsu will each contribute an element to the courtyard arrangement, resulting in one collective outcome.
Set to live modernist instrumental music exploring wood and metal textures from handmade objects, the event embraces a site-specific atmosphere of diverse art forms, sounds, and creative perspectives. Sounds led by House Music, a duo composed of Eli Weidman and David Bernabo.
