Meet us in the Sculpture Court! Soak in the summer breeze at Inside Out, our free event series. On Thursday, June 29, the DJs behind Brighter Wavs bring their signature sound to the Sculpture Court.

A cash bar serving local drinks and El Rincón Oaxaqueño Food Truck will be on site.

Inside Out events are free and most events are open to audiences of all ages. Make a day of it and reserve your timed tickets to visit the museum before or after you enjoy Inside Out!

About the Artists:

Conceived as an Instagram Live DJ set in March 2020, Brighter Wavs is a platform for joy. As a MSYH.FM radio show, it’s a soundtrack for city cruising, Sunday cleaning sessions, and triumphant bedroom dancing. As a dance music day party, it moves through regions and rhythms to inspire bliss, movement, and nostalgia. Think of it as an essential vitamin you didn’t know you needed. A sonic intervention from the mundane. A glimpse into a brighter day.

David Shoemaker is a DJ, producer, and educator from Pittsburgh, PA. As DJ Shoe, his dynamic sound spans across genres, regions, and decades. He bridges hip hop, R&B, and global club music in both his mixes and production. Blending familiar melodies and underground rhythms, his live shows spark joy, movement, and community. By day, he teaches DJing and beat-making to the next generation of Pittsburgh artists.

Malcolm Threat is a DJ based in Pittsburgh, PA. After joining the WRCT radio station in 2020, they started DJing. On their radio show, they developed a love for house, dubstep, UK garage, and techno, often mixing multiple genres together. Inspired by their peers at the station, they learned how to mix and started playing small parties. Now, Malcolm Threat DJs various events in Pittsburgh, ranging from club nights to gallery openings. When they’re not DJing, Malcolm Threat is a student at Carnegie Mellon University. As a music lover, they hope to use DJing to cultivate joy in their local communities.

Eric Justin aka e_just is a longtime house head and DJ with over two and a half decades of experience. He is known to drop everything from classic disco and New Jersey garage to acid and Detroit techno and back again. As long as it is funky and soulful, he has it in his arsenal.
