About the Artists
Maya Universe is a multipotentialite. They use their midwest culture as a base for a recipe of eclectic club sound. Maya Universe began dipping their toes into music through DIY venues and art houses. They came around Pittsburghâs music scene with the gFx crew, collaborated with Boo Lean on a variety of events, hosted and played with Huny XO of Mostbeautifullest and a few other notable parties including Curfew and Oasis Was.
Royal Haunts is the solo recording project of Pittsburgh native Tony Resch. After 15 years in the music industry, Resch has carved out a sound totally his own both as a recording artist and performer. He has co-founded the organization and residency event Everything the Light Touches (ETLT) with collaborator Joshua Orange. ETLT has hosted a vast array of some of the worldâs top electronic acts such as Derrick Carter, Geotheory, DJ Moma, and more. Alongside his own original music, Royal Haunts spins a transcendent mix of house, garage, jungle, and R&B. There is no corner of contemporary electronic music left untouched yet Haunts always manages to create a performance that is cohesive and representative of his, well, haunting aesthetic.
Sankofa Villiage For the Arts is a community-based cultural arts organization in Pittsburgh. Our programming consists of African arts specifically African drum, dance, martial arts, and a successful youth leadership program. Our goal is to make the world a better place through the arts.
David Shoemaker is a DJ, producer, and educator from Pittsburgh, PA. As DJ Shoe, his dynamic sound spans across genres, regions, and decades. He bridges hip hop, R&B, and global club music in both his mixes and production. Blending familiar melodies and underground rhythms, his live shows spark joy, movement, and community. By day, he teaches DJing and beat-making to the next generation of Pittsburgh artists.
