Since the February 2020 opening of Carnegie Museum of Art’s Forum exhibition Counterpressures, Pittsburgh has become steeped in a global pandemic as well as national protests addressing the public-health crisis of systemic racism. Virtually drop in to hear eight of the exhibition’s artists describe what it means to be a contemporary artist living and making work during this time—both generally and in Pittsburgh, specifically.
The evening will include presentations and conversation between the panelists, as well as an opportunity for attendees to join in small group discussions to bring to light other artists’ experiences. Join to be a participant, an observer, or both!
Panelists include: Paper Buck, Tara Fay, Christine Holtz, Stephanie Martin, Travis Mitzel, Njaimeh Njie, Su Su, and Ginger Brooks Takahashi.
Zoom links will be emailed upon registration.
