Join artist Deana Lawson and curator Dan Leers to celebrate the opening of Deana Lawson in Carnegie Museum of Art’s Forum Gallery.
For her solo exhibition at Carnegie Museum of Art, Deana Lawson (b. 1979) presents a combination of photographs and appropriated-image installations. The photographs, some of them never before exhibited, are printed in the largest size ever for the artist and address critical issues surrounding representations of African Americans and the African diaspora.
This in-gallery conversation with the artist and cocktail reception is free and open to the public, with a cash bar. Stay afterward for Third Thursday, Carnegie Museum of Art’s monthly evening event, for $5.
