Go beyond the āselfieā in your smart phone photography. In this series of exploratory exercises and a final project, you’ll explore innovative work by contemporary photographers in our collection and let their works inspire your own photographic exploration of a subject you choose. Maybe youāll study you! Bring your research and experiments together in a final project inspired by a novel approach to the portrait.
- Work through fresh ideas you find in works by contemporary photographers in our collection to create your own photography portfolio
- Practice new ways of observing and visualizing your world
- Join a live Zoom workshop on August 21 at 2 p.m. to create your final project inspired by the layering, fragmenting, and compositional techniques of Paul Mpagi Sepuya’s Self Portrait Study with Roses at Night (1709).
