BOOM Concepts takes over the museum for a unique night of artist takeovers, tours, and dance.
Discover – Discover something new with a tour of the Carnegie International, which features ambitious new art from around the globe and our own backyard. Lead by our expert docents, this tour focuses on work by artistsĀ based in Pittsburgh (Thaddeus Mosley, Lenka Clayton, and Jon Rubin) as well as an artist who learned to draw at Carnegie Museum of Art (Mel Bochner)!
Inspire – Get inspired and join the conversation with Teenie Time. Weāll explore the work of theĀ legendaryĀ Charles āTeenieā Harris who photographed Pittsburghās African American community from ca. 1935 to ca. 1975. Local Pittsburgh artists take inspiration from ourĀ Teenie Harris ArchiveĀ to create poetry, painting, song, and more. Artists will present their work during a rousing show and tell full of conversation and community.
Make – Get crafty withĀ artist educators from The AndyĀ Warhol Museum! Learn how to screenprint your very own pennant by hand. Supplies are provided and free of charge.
Dance – Dance with DJ Nate da Phat Barber in our grand Music Hall Foyer.
Learn – Hear from Marita Garrett, mayor of Wilkinsburg, about art-based community development.
Experience – See a screening of If I Die, Iām a Legend: A Tale of Orisha, Hoodoo, and #BlackLivesMatter.
