Make a gift of art during this hands-on workshop led by artist Laurie Trok.
Find inspiration in the awe created by a snowflake, the beauty of a single crystal, and the surprise of opening a box of candies. During this workshop, Trok will lead participants through a delicate and intricate candy making process inspired by snowflakes. Each participant will create their own unique gift-ready box of edible snowflakes. All supplies will be included, and participants will finish with a handmade work of art to give.
About the Artist
Laurie Trok is a multidisciplinary artist living in Pittsburgh, PA. Her investigative artwork is about transformation, time, layering language and challenging binaries. Cutting paper has been a means of mapping drawingsâa subtractive way of making space. More recently Laurie has turned away from the singularity of paper cutting to give more attention to disciplined curiosity which has always been at the heart of her practice.
Laurie has exhibited in several juried exhibitions at institutions including Carnegie Museum of Art, The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, and the Westmoreland Museum of American Art. She has worked and shown nationally and is a current artist in residence at Bunker Projects in Pittsburgh, PA.
