Today, a new type of museum is emerging—a hybrid form that fuses architecture, art, and nature. Contemporary art is often found at sites that mix old and new, that are planned by several designers, and that instill a sense of exploration. White Cube, Green Maze: New Art Landscapes presents six such sites, spanning four continents and six countries: The Olympic Sculpture Park (USA); the Rocket Station (Germany); the Benesse Art Site (Japan); Instituto Inhotim (Brazil); the Jardín Botánico de Culiacán (Mexico); and the Grand Traiano Art Complex (Italy). The exhibition includes models and drawings by master architects (Tadao Ando), emerging architects (Tatiana Bilbao; Johnston Marklee), and landscape architects (TOA; Topotek 1), as well as photographs of all six sites by Iwan Baan, one of the most influential architectural photographers.
