The 58th Carnegie International Opening Celebration Party – a one-night-only preview of this famed art exhibition – will transform Carnegie Museum of Art into a must-see discotheque conceived by luxury event designer Joe Mineo.
Guests will be transported into a futuristic wonderland as they enter, greeted with romantic florals and twinkling lights in juxtaposition with aluminum orbs and contemporary sculptures. The museum’s lobby will be lit like a nightclub, with lights cascading down the walls to set the mood. A 72-foot bar positioned in front of a glass wall will frame an illuminated pavilion commissioned for the exhibition by artist Rafael Domenech in the Sculpture Court.
Featuring an entrancing live performance by interdisciplinary artist Hyd and DJ sets by pvkvsv and Muqata’a, the evening will bring together music, performance, and contemporary art lovers plus artists featured in the exhibition from all over the world.
The late-night affair will begin at 8:30 p.m. and last until midnight. Cocktails, beer, and espresso will be poured at three bars in and outside the museum, and towers of delightful confections conceived by The Café Carnegie will be offered.
When you purchase a ticket to the 58th Carnegie International Opening Celebration Party, you are supporting Carnegie Museum of Art and helping us share our artistic program with visitors throughout the Pittsburgh region and around the world.
If you are an artist, non-profit professional, or student, please reach out to friends@carnegieart.org to inquire about a reduced-priced ticket for the party. We look forward to celebrating with you!
